Quality Engineer, Junior
Qualifications
- Three to five years of related experience in quality assurance functions.
- Ability to write quality assurance reports describing manufacturing problems, corrective actions, and preventative measures, suitable for non-technical audiences such as clients and management.
- Ability to make presentations to management on topics like product costing, customer requirements, and product failures for planning purposes.
- Experience in assessing candidate suitability, reviewing resumes, and evaluating interview responses and references.
- Experience with APQP: Process Control Plans, PFMEA, Gauge Planning, PPAP requirements; reading reports about facilities, processes, and equipment.
- Knowledge in drawing interpretations, geometric dimensional tolerancing, gauging methods, gauge selection, calibration, and R&R studies; capable of taking precise measurements with specialized equipment.
- Ability to lead and coordinate project teams involving engineers, production, customers, and suppliers in product and process design and development.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CAD applications, statistical analysis software, and familiarity with ISO/TS16949 standards.
- Willingness to participate in professional development, seminars, and self-study to stay updated on engineering advances.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or related discipline required.
Responsibilities
- Communicate directly with customers to develop and supply components meeting or exceeding their requirements.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for process issues.
- Assist the Quality Manager in establishing and maintaining the quality management system.
- Engage in continual improvement activities like 5S, Kaizen, and lean methods.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Operations to ensure smooth transfer of new products to production.
- Support Quality Inspectors to ensure compliance with quality system requirements.
- Conduct audits, report findings, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze failures and customer complaints to improve quality.
- Create and maintain quality documentation such as manuals and procedures.
- Manage overall receiving and outgoing quality activities.
- Improve QA receiving inspection processes and procedures.
- Manage supplier performance, conduct audits, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Prepare reports related to Quality Assurance activities.
