Reports To : Manager, Group Underwriter

In this role, you will collaborate with the Group Underwriting team to ensure Medavie Blue Cross meets its financial targets for group health, life, and disability income lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establish renewal pricing by analyzing experience/trends, justifying renewal reasons, and recommending pricing options; respond to client inquiries related to pricing and experience.
2. Set rates for new group business and address financial questions within specified guidelines.
3. Prepare financial statements for ASO and Retention groups in line with financial agreements.
4. Draft and update financial agreements.
5. Ensure underwriting targets for growth and profitability are achieved.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with clients and producers.
7. Coordinate with internal teams such as sales, case management, and group administration, and liaise with agents, brokers, consultants, and policyholders.

Qualifications

• Education : Post-secondary education
• Work Experience : Minimum four years in Group Underwriting
• Computer Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
• Language Skills : Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
