Reports To:

In this role, you will work with the Group Underwriting team to ensure Medavie Blue Cross achieves its financial targets on the group health, life, and disability income lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Establish renewal pricing by analyzing experience/trends, justifying renewal reasons, and recommending pricing alternatives. Respond to client inquiries related to pricing and experience.
2. Set rates for new group business and address financial questions within specified guidelines.
3. Prepare financial statements for ASO and Retention groups according to financial agreements.
4. Draft and update financial agreements.
5. Ensure underwriting targets for growth and profitability are met.
6. Develop and maintain direct relationships with clients and producers.
7. Collaborate with internal sales staff, Case Management, Group Admin, and external agent/broker/consultant networks and policyholders.

Qualifications:

• Education: Post-secondary education
• Work Experience: Minimum of two years in Group Underwriting
• Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
• Language Skills: Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
• Other Qualifications: Ability to work in a team environment, strong communication skills, self-directed, high accountability, excellent reasoning and judgment, strong analytical skills with attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
