We have been involved in many of Canada's most ambitious projects; from dams, bridges, energy transmission and distribution to railroads and transportation. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

As a Social Media Specialist for North America, you will report to the Director of Communication North America and collaborate closely with the global social media lead by driving and growing the Nexans brand via social media engagement through value added content.

GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION

Nexans is growing its brand in North America starting in Canada. In order to do this effectively, it is critical to post high quality, educational, and brand driven content to social media consistently and to curate that content. This role will primarily focus on producing and curating daily content across all local social media channels as well as managing Nexans’ social media communities. The Social Media Specialist will also help to support event communications across social media in North America, working with any advertising agencies or social media marketing agencies leading up to the event.

Nexans is seeking a creative and data-driven Social Media Specialist to drive brand awareness, community engagement, and business growth in North America. This position will focus on developing and executing compelling content strategies aligned with Nexans’ vision of electrifying the future with impact. You will play a key role in building Nexans' presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok, ensuring brand consistency while adapting to regional market needs.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Content Strategy & Creation

  • Develop and execute a data-driven content roadmap aligned with Nexans' strategic business priorities in North America.
  • Create engaging multimedia content (short-form videos, carousels, reels, graphics, and written posts) that simplifies complex industry topics while inspiring engagement.
  • Collaborate with regional business units and global teams to localize content for North American audiences.
  • Stay ahead of social media trends and integrate best practices into Nexans' digital strategy.

Community Management & Engagement

  • Manage and grow Nexans' social media presence in North America, ensuring active engagement with key stakeholders (customers, employees, industry partners).
  • Moderate discussions, respond to inquiries, and proactively build relationships with industry influencers, journalists, and potential business leads.
  • Develop and execute a social listening strategy to capture trends, conversations, and brand sentiment.

Paid Media & Performance Analytics

  • Plan and execute targeted paid social media campaigns to amplify reach, engagement, and lead generation.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance using platform insights and social media management tools (Hootsuite, LinkedIn Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc.), providing actionable recommendations.
  • Lead influencer marketing on Nexans social media especially on Instagram and TikTok
  • Adapt strategies based on data-driven insights, ensuring continuous optimization and audience growth.

Collaboration & Brand Alignment

  • Act as the regional social media expert, providing guidance on best practices to internal teams and leadership.
  • Align content with Nexans' editorial voice and visual identity while ensuring consistency across platforms.
  • Work closely with global and regional marketing, sales, HR, and corporate communications teams to maximize content impact.

You will be expected to :

  • Substantial increase (over 50%) in social media following on social media channels including LinkedIn, Meta (Instagram and Facebook), YouTube, and TikTok
  • Substantial increase in post engagement (over 50%) on social posts and in community
  • Active online community for Nexans channels in North America

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ?

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in social media content creation, digital marketing, or community management.
  • Experience managing social media for Meta (Facebook & Instagram), LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and TikTok.

Technical & Creative Skills

  • Proficiency in Canva and other design tools for social media content creation.
  • Strong ability to shoot and edit short-form videos using an iPhone or basic video production tools.
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of paid social media advertising and performance tracking.

Soft Skills & Strategic Thinking

  • Exceptional storytelling skills – able to simplify complex energy and industrial topics into engaging content.
  • Strong understanding of B2B social media trends, community engagement, and employer branding.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment, balancing multiple priorities.
