About The Role

As the Social Media & Community Manager, reporting to the Content Marketing Lead you will lead the development and execution of a results-driven social strategy that puts the customer first and stays ahead of trends. You will create engaging content, manage community and event initiatives, and collaborate closely with a creative marketing team. You’ll bring strong skills in content creation, social copy and design, project management, and data analysis to uncover new marketing opportunities. You will be responsible for building an authentic brand presence across channels while supporting broader business goals.

NOTE: This role is hybrid, meaning that the team comes together in our Downtown Toronto office twice a month.

What You'll Do

  • Develop a deep understanding of FreshBooks’ current and potential customers. What motivates their behaviors, and how to communicate with them through your work.
  • Stay current on industry trends, evolving customer expectations, and emerging social strategies to keep FreshBooks at the forefront of digital engagement in our competitive environment
  • Create social content such as posts, videos, communities, and thought leadership that drives engagement, builds brand awareness, and grows your audience while ensuring that all messaging and visuals consistently align with the FreshBooks brand.
  • Manage the strategy and execution of FreshBooks’ social and event goals by leveraging search data, industry best practices, and trends to shape and maintain a dynamic social calendar.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, designers, subject-matter experts, and others to execute creative assets. Regularly monitor and report on social performance.
  • Be comfortable in front of a camera and create original video content for FreshBooks' social channels.
  • Build and manage social communities on platforms like Facebook and Reddit as well as experiment with new channels and content types.

What You'll Bring

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in social strategy and content execution
  • experience executing social media posts, videos, and social strategies
  • strong creative capabilities that are on trend and relevant to audiences
  • enthusiasm for staying current with evolving social media trends, best practices, and algorithm changes
  • strong communication, presentation development, and delivery skills
  • ability to work collaboratively across functional teams with varying levels of direct or indirect reporting structure

You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • experience using social-media-specific tools for scheduling, contests, and analytics
  • proficiency in crafting compelling and effective value propositions and messaging
  • experience executing or contributing to original video content
  • track record of building and/or managing online communities
  • examples of your work ready to share
