Job summary

Matrec, a division of GFL, is seeking a full-time DZ Driver / Front-end based in Ottawa (Ideally Cornwall). You will ensure safe, timely waste collection, operate front-end equipment, and provide professional customer service, reporting to the Operations Manager.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 5 years of DZ driving (preferred) and experience with Front-End vehicles; 1–2 years in the waste industry is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; post-secondary considered an asset.
• 1–2 years driving experience in the waste industry.
• 5 years DZ driving experience preferred.
• Experience with Front-End vehicles preferred.
• Knowledge of the waste industry is an asset.
• Strong communication and customer focus required.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned daily routes safely and in a timely manner.
• Drive to customer sites, set, lift, and empty bins into front-end vehicle, and return bins to original location.
• Transfer waste to the appropriate transfer station, landfill, or drop-off location, following all facility protocols.
• Satisfy customer service needs in accordance with established policies.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (may require climbing truck ladder to inspect loads).
• Perform driver check-ins and complete accurate daily paperwork at the end of the day.
• Maintain communication with operations management and report any issues.
• All other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Job Requirements:
