Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Clean CVOR record.
  • 1+ year of commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario MTO regulations.
  • Forklift certification is an asset.
  • TDG certification is an asset if applicable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport products to customer sites.
  • Load and secure materials for transport.
  • Unload materials at customer sites and assist with placement.
  • Serve as primary contact at delivery locations and coordinate deliveries.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects promptly.
  • Maintain driver logs and bills of lading per Ontario standards.
  • Plan routes and adjust for traffic or weather conditions.
  • Ensure shipping manifests are accurate and complete.
  • Resolve routine customer service issues and escalate complex concerns.
  • Assist warehouse operations as needed.

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for safely delivering products to customer job sites while complying with all applicable Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations, company safety policies, and transportation standards. This role involves loading and unloading materials, completing scheduled deliveries and pickups, and providing professional customer service at each delivery location. Deliveries may include early morning, evening, or specialized loads, including regulated materials where applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle requiring a license to transport products, supplies, and equipment to customer sites, suppliers, and company locations.
  • Load and secure materials onto the truck to ensure safe transport.
  • Unload materials at customer sites, which may include assisting with placement as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact at delivery locations, ensuring delivery documentation is accurate and complete and contacting customers when necessary to coordinate deliveries.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with MTO regulations and company procedures. Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or violations promptly.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and bills of lading in compliance with Ontario transportation standards.
  • Plan and adjust delivery routes to accommodate traffic conditions, construction, and weather.
  • Ensure all shipping manifests and documentation are accurate and complete.
  • Resolve routine customer service issues professionally and elevate complex concerns as needed.
  • Assist warehouse operations when required, including order picking, staging, receiving, and stocking materials.
Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR record.
  • Minimum one year of commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
  • Forklift certification considered an asset.
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification considered an asset, if applicable to the role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience & Skills
  • Two to five years of related experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safe load securement and defensive driving practices.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required.
  • Strong time management and route planning skills.
  • Customer-focused with strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while following company policies and procedures.
Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to outdoor conditions and temperature extremes.
  • Exposure to moving equipment, job site environments, and moderate noise levels.
  • Physical work, including lifting and material handling, is required.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
