Job summary

Canada Cartage in Oshawa is seeking a dedicated truck driver to operate a large vehicle and transport cargo safely and on schedule. The role involves conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, managing documentation, and ensuring proper loading of cargo. Minimum 1 year of experience required along with a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class AZ / Class 1.

The position is full-time, working Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays. Applicants must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and may have highway runs across Ontario.

What You Will Do

• Operate vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all MTO and company safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
• Manage appropriate cargo documentation and provide necessary paperwork upon delivery of goods.
• Coordinate the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
• Maintain contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.
