Job summary

Flanagan Foodservice Inc. is seeking a Delivery Driver to ensure timely and safe transport of customer orders across the Maritime provinces, with strict adherence to DOT regulations and accurate paperwork.

You will plan routes, load and unload cargo, and maintain excellent customer service while upholding safety standards and cargo integrity throughout the delivery process, fostering reliable service and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate delivery trucks safely and comply with DOT regulations.
  • Complete and manage all required delivery paperwork (manifests, bills of lading, inspection reports).
  • Plan routes to ensure timely delivery across locations.
  • Load/unload cargo and assist with cab entries/exits as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to navigate inclines, steps, and terrain safely.

Job description

The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation and delivery of customer orders within the Maritime provinces. This position requires meticulous adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to maintain compliance and safety standards. The driver is responsible for accurate handling of delivery paperwork, ensuring all documentation is complete and precise to facilitate smooth logistics operations, for providing good customer service in the delivery process, supporting good customer relations and retention, and to complete the delivery process using a two-wheel cart, pallet jack, etc. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to customer satisfaction by delivering products reliably and maintaining the integrity of the cargo throughout the delivery process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class operated in Canada.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with Canadian DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
  • Proven experience in truck driving with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to accurately complete delivery and transportation paperwork.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as climbing into truck cabs, carrying wheeled items, and maneuvering in varied terrain.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Previous experience in the transportation and warehousing industry within Canada.
  • Additional safety certifications related to cargo handling and vehicle operation.
