Drift Salon & Bar in Halifax is seeking a friendly Server who can deliver warm, informed service across our seafood and Maritime offerings. You will greet guests, explain menu choices, and ensure smooth operation with the BOH and POS system.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of serving experience, holds a Serve Right certification, stays calm in a fast-paced setting, and communicates clearly with guests and colleagues.

• Valid Serve Right certification.
• At least 2 years serving experience in a similar environment.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent observation skills and high attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Welcome guests warmly and create an exceptional first impression.
• Inform guests about offerings and share menu knowledge for recommendations.
• Enter information into the POS system clearly for the BOH team.
• Provide recommendations and ensure a positive guest experience.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or concerns.
• Accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions with care.
• Maintain a clean station and monitor food quality to meet presentation standards.
• Follow all food safety standards and systems.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

Under the direction of the General Manager, we are looking for a Server at Drift Salon & Bar who will be accountable for maintaining strong knowledge about all food and beverage offerings in the restaurant.

What you will be doing as a Server:

• Welcoming each guest warmly and with enthusiasm, always creating an exceptional first impression;
• Enthusiastically inform guests about our offerings and share your menu knowledge to make the best recommendations;
• Accurately and precisely entering information into the pos system ensuring communications are clear for the BOH team;
• Provide recommendations and create a positive guest experience;
• Responding promptly and courteously to any guest request or concerns;
• Going above and beyond for special requests or celebrations and taking food preferences and guest allergies or dietary restrictions seriously;
• Maintain a clean section and monitor food quality to ensure all items are held to freehand presentation standards;
• Keenly following all food safety standards and systems;
• Such other related duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time.

The person we are looking for has:

• A valid Serve Right Certification;
• At least 2 years serving experience in a similar environment;
• The ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum, staying calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent observation skills & high attention to detail, offering a helping hand to all guests whenever needed, before they even need to ask;
• Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service;
• Strong communication skills.
