Position Overview

Are you looking to be part of a growing and developing team in an organization that values its people, customers, work, and supply chain? If so, APEX is currently accepting applications for a Drafting Technologist within its Steel Door Manufacturing Group.

This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Group Manager. The primary role of this position is to plan and organize orders for use in the plant.

Responsibilities
  • Organize, produce shop drawings and documents for manufacturing use.
  • Plan projects to maximize productivity in the shop and to customer delivery requirements.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve the detail on drawings for shop use.
  • Creating custom designs using Autodesk Inventor.
Qualifications
  • College diploma (i.e. PTech, CET), University degree, or the equivalent work experience would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • A manufacturing or drawing design background.
  • Background in Autodesk Inventor / Auto CAD, or Avaware.
  • Strong background in excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational skills & problem-solving abilities.
