Job summary

Topmade Plastics & Neon Signs is seeking a skilled designer/ drafter to work on-site in Calgary, Alberta. You will read blueprints, develop design sketches, and coordinate with clients, engineers and production to translate requirements into compelling signage concepts.

Proficiency in graphic software and color accuracy is essential, with experience using Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. This full-time role supports a multidisciplinary production environment at our facility.

• Collaborate with clients, engineers and production teams to meet specifications.
• Proficient in graphic software and color accuracy for signage production.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine work requirements
• Develop and prepare design sketches
• Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements
• Review the graphic designer's instructions
• Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication
• Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients' objectives
• Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements
• Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides
• Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials
• Co-ordinate sub-contracting
• Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations
• Work in a multidisciplinary environment
• Adapt existing illustrations
