Job summary

DES Engineering Limited in Edmonton is seeking an Intermediate Drafting Technologist to complete drafting of electrical distribution systems and prepare CAD working plans for residential, commercial and industrial projects.

You will draft underground and overhead power distribution, traffic signal and lighting drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation, follow design standards, and collaborate with senior designers to deliver high-quality client deliverables while maintaining safety and QAQC.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting experience.
• Experience drafting power distribution systems would be asset.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications would be asset.
• Electrical Design & Drafting Technology Diploma or Engineering Design Technology Diploma or CAD Certificate from a recognized technical institution.
• First aid and CPR certification would be asset.

Responsibilities

• Draft underground and overhead power distribution systems using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Draft traffic signal, lighting and electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Create single line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics and wiring.
• Conduct drawing reviews and corrections including QAQC processes.
• Collaborate with senior designers and engineers for support and development on more challenging tasks.
• Work closely with senior team members to support and mentor more junior team members.
• Ensure all safety procedures and processes are followed with the goal of zero injury.
