Job summary

Day & Ross is seeking a Dock Worker in Charlottetown, PEI, for a full-time morning shift. You will handle inbound/outbound freight on the dock, operate a forklift, and support administrative tasks in the TMS system. TDG and WHMIS compliance are expected, with a safe, efficient workflow on a busy dock.

Candidates should have forklift experience and be comfortable lifting up to 75 lbs. Prior dock or transportation experience is preferred; Truckmate and ERP/TMS familiarity are assets.

Qualifications

  • Forklift experience required.
  • Experience with TMS/ERP systems preferred.
  • Previous dock or similar logistics experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work safely on a dock.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Handle big and bulky freight on the dock, on and off a forklift.
  • Follow TDG and WHMIS policies and customer requirements.
  • Receive and ship freight accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with administrative duties in the TMS system.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Dock Worker

Available Shifts:
  • 3am -11:30am

At Day & Ross, our dock team is an important part of our business. As a Dock Worker, you’ll help us handle inbound and outbound customer freight and protect it from damage. You'll also help us keep a safe and clean work environment on the dock. You will help with administrative duties within our TMS system.

How You’ll Help:
  • Handle big and bulky freight on the dock, both on and off a forklift.
  • Follow TDG, WHMIS, and company policies, as well as any customer requirements.
  • Pay attention to the details. Receive and ship freight accurately and efficiently.
  • Other duties as required.
Your Skills & Experience:
  • Forklift experience required
  • Transportation Management System/ERP system experience
  • Truckmate experience an asset
  • Previous transportation or dock experience is preferred
  • Willingness and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision

This role includes physical labour (bending, crouching, etc.), loud machines, and operating a forklift in a busy area.
