GLS Canada is seeking a Dock Supervisor for our Ottawa terminal to oversee daily dock operations, driver assignments, and loading/unloading activities. You will drive productivity while maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance, working closely with HR and Health & Safety teams.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 4:00am to 12:00pm

Salary: Salary will be based on experience
Supervise the terminal's daily operations, including dock activities, shipments, routing and driver assignments.
Coordinate loading and unloading activities to maximize productivity and reduce delays.
Lead, motivate, and support drivers and operational staff while fostering a culture of safety, performance, and teamwork.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and hours-of-service regulations.
Manage operational issues in real time and implement quick solutions to maintain operational continuity.
Monitor employee hours worked and validate operational reports for management.
Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of equipment, trailers, and trucks.
Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching, recognize strong performance, and address disciplinary matters when required.
Collaborate with Human Resources and Health & Safety teams on employee management, investigations, and compliance.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time performance, productivity, operating costs, and safety.
Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate operational documentation.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and service quality.
Do you fit the job profile?
Postsecondary education in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or a related field (considered an asset).
2 to 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution.
1 to 2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance requirements, and health and safety standards.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team engagement skills.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility to work according to operational needs
