Profile

The Distribution Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating inventory replenishment transfer orders to maintain stock levels in our distribution centers. Work with order fulfillment and transportation to plan and co-ordinate flow of goods through the network, including reverse logistics and the coordination of return materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with customer service and the 3PL partners as well as internal stakeholders from the working level to executive level to achieve program objectives.
  • Responsible for planning inventory replenishment transfer orders between distribution centers to maintain planned stock levels.
  • Manage the relationship with the 3PLs and be the main point of contact for all communications / escalations.
  • Setup and coordinate all service meetings and monthly KPI / quarterly QBR reviews.
  • Manage action registers with all involved teams.
  • Provide weekly/Monthly status updates on internal transfer orders and planned stock levels.
  • Responsible to rollout all new processes and coordinate all training sessions.
  • Work with the cross functional teams, planning, procurement, logistics and quality on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the daily tasks.
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner to maintain stock availability in distribution centers.
  • Work with inventory planning, distribution order fulfillment teams, logistics and 3rd Party providers to plan and implement distribution optimization projects.
  • Work with various functions to solve business problems through process mapping and alignment sessions that enable the business objectives.

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, and/or have extensive experience in supply chain.
  • University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Technical discipline preferred.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma training, continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in procurement, order fulfillment, warehouse management and or logistics.
  • 8-10 years’ experience with Supply Chain processes and a digital procurement platform.
  • Proficiency with the IFS, SAP, JDE, or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry and/or manufacturing environment (Asset).

  • Ability to supervise the inventory control team and coordinate activities with 3PLs worldwide.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, demanding and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong customer focus, business acumen and a result-oriented attitude.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; great attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable dealing with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong financial acumen with excellent proficiency in MS Excel to analyze data.
  • Ability to work in a highly technical environment.
