Qualifications

• Dispatch and logistics experience with knowledge of Southeast Ontario.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and MS Office familiarity.
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving abilities; capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and equipment utilization.
• Provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance with Operations Manager or Lead Hands.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required.
• Communicate with customers regarding delivery requirements, schedule changes and issues.
• Adhere to health and safety policies, SOPs and industry regulations.
• Perform other office administration duties as required.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for an Afternoon Dispatcher to join our Toronto team. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

This position is based on an afternoon shift: starting at3:00pm – 12:00am

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southeast Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
