McDougall Energy is seeking an Afternoon Dispatcher for our Toronto team. The role reports to the Regional Operations Manager and focuses on dispatching deliveries, directing drivers on routes, and coordinating with maintenance and customers to ensure on-time deliveries.

The ideal candidate has dispatch or logistics experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. We offer a comprehensive rewards package and a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch deliveries to maximize efficiency.
• Provide routes and requirements guidance to drivers.
• Coordinate with Operations for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
• Communicate delivery changes to customers and manage expectations.
• Adhere to health, safety, SOPs and regulations.

About The Opportunity

McDougall Energy is looking for an Afternoon Dispatcher to join our Toronto team. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

This position is based on an afternoon shift: starting at 3:00pm – 12:00am

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of southeastern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
