Job summary

McCluskey Transportation is seeking a full-time Dispatcher to schedule and coordinate our team of school bus drivers in Toronto. The role emphasizes organization, effective communication, and responsive problem solving to keep routes running smoothly from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include inputting driver payroll data, answering inquiries, and maintaining operational systems.

Qualifications

• Previous dispatch experience required, preferably in the school bus industry.
• Operations experience considered an asset.
• Good knowledge of Toronto city roadways.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy.
• Expertise in organizational planning and problem solving.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that drivers and staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner using the guidelines and rules.
• Ensure school routes are covered in an efficient and fair manner.
• Set up and input data accurately for driver payroll for the yard’s assigned routes.
• Assist in answering public and driver inquiries and finding solutions to concerns.
• Ensure all required paperwork/requests is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Create/improve existing Operations systems.
• Have a basic understanding of the school bus fleet.
• Keep appropriate staff informed of any major issues, changes, concerns etc. in an expedient fashion.
