Job summary

The Erb Group is seeking a Dispatch Manager to lead Erb Transport Limited’s dispatch operations, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and reliable transportation services. You will oversee staffing, scheduling, service levels, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Collaborating with senior management and cross-functional teams, you will implement process improvements, manage budgets, and develop a culture of safety, accountability, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or related field is an asset.
• 5+ years of experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or related.
• Previous management or supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of transportation, dispatch, scheduling, and operational processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience managing employee performance and workplace concerns.
• Strong computer skills with dispatch, fleet, scheduling, or workforce management systems.
• Knowledge of transportation safety and employment legislation is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on operational responsibilities.
• Bilingual English and French (oral and written) required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the dispatch department.
• Develop and maintain efficient dispatch processes and workflows.
• Allocate drivers, equipment, routes, and resources.
• Monitor performance, service levels, productivity, and efficiency.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training.
• Maintain safety and compliance across operations.
• Prepare operational reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet service goals.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and cost control.
• Address staffing and scheduling challenges during peak periods.
