Job summary

The Erb Group in North Bay, Ontario is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate and manage freight movements across terminal locations. You will schedule linehaul drivers, monitor departures, and maintain compliant, timely transportation while delivering excellent customer service.

You will work with drivers, dock and data entry teams, and other dispatch groups to optimize loads, adjust assignments, and report performance.

Qualifications

• Experience using Erb systems, including AS400.
• Ability to enter loads in the dispatch system and shift updates as needed.
• Strong attention to detail under pressure in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Distribute load assignments to Linehaul Drivers.
• Monitor drivers within the dispatch system and coordinate departures.
• Collaborate with Terminal Operations to ensure timely freight departures.
• Assess freight movement to meet deadlines and goals.
• Communicate load information to drivers and respond to dispatch messages.
• Update client websites as required.
• Identify opportunities to optimize departure times and communicate findings to the Linehaul dispatch team.
• Coordinate with dock, data entry, drivers and other dispatch groups to manage loads and outside power when necessary.
• Monitor scheduled departures and driver wait times, and report on performance.
