Job summary

Fresh Kitchen + Juice Bar, located in Toronto, is seeking a dishwasher to join our Back of House team. You will help keep the kitchen and storage areas clean and organized, handle deliveries, and support line cooks to ensure smooth service.

Open and flexible availability from 8 AM to 12 AM is required, including evenings and weekends. The role offers hourly pay, employee benefits after a qualifying period, and opportunities for growth within a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Verify quality and quantity of deliveries with packing slip
• Store deliveries in proper storage areas and keep shelves organized
• Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation per policy
• Work closely with Line Cooks to ensure smooth service
• Prepare produce and ingredients as directed by the manager
• Ensure guests and staff use clean dishes and utensils
• Empty garage, compost and recycling bins
• Break down boxes and containers for recycling
• Sweep outside and keep grounds clean
• Know the uses of cleaning products and follow safety procedures
• Attend pre-shift meetings and contribute to smooth workflow
• Communicate with management about workflow, inventory and equipment

What Are We Looking For?

• Open and flexible availability from 8 AM to 12 AM, including evenings and weekends
• Able to complete physically demanding tasks - standing for long periods, lifting 50 lbs, bending and reaching, etc.
• Comfortable with handling a knife and cleaning solutions
• Experience working in a kitchen, restaurant, or fast food chain (bonus)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verifies the quality and quantity of delivered items and ingredients with the packing slip
• Puts away the delivered items and ingredients in the appropriate storage places
• Keeps storage places organized ensuring all supplies are visible most frequently used items are not on top shelves
• Cleans and sanitizes all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in a timely manner
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station up to policy standards
• Works closely with Line Cooks to ensure a smooth service
• Cleans and sanitizes all dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, etc. in a timely manner
• Prepares produce and ingredients with instructions from the manager
• Provides satisfaction by ensuring guests and staff are using clean dishes and utensils
• Empties out garage, compost and recycling bins
• Breaks down boxes and containers to put them in the recycling
• Keeps property grounds clean by sweeping outside, shovelling snow, etc.
• Understands the uses for all cleaning products in the workplace
• Adheres to outlined health and safety procedures and Fresh standards
• Attends pre-shift meetings and is prepared to participate by actively listening and working towards harmonious restaurant workflow
• Communicates openly with management about concerns regarding workflow, inventory and equipment

Hourly Rate

• $17.95/hr
