Canada Life in Hamilton, ON seeks a Disability Case Manager to join a hybrid work model, working on-site two days per week. The role involves proactive management of disability claims, communication with stakeholders, and coordinating return-to-work and rehabilitation programs.

Base salary ranges from $62,800 to $94,200 CAD annually, with additional compensation components. There is education reimbursement up to $2,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive management of assigned disability claims (STD, LTD and Life Waiver) by evaluating medical information and job duties to determine disability length.
• Evaluate extent of disability via verbal and written communication with applicants, employers, physicians, and other professionals, and respond to inquiries.
• Make decisions based on overall assessment of each claim.
• Implement return-to-work programs and coordinate with the employer.
• Coordinate health care and rehabilitation programs to meet employability goals.

This position follows a hybrid work model and requires the successful candidate to work on‑site at our Hamilton office two days per week.

What you will do:

• Perform proactive management of assigned disability claims (STD, LTD and Life Waiver) by determining the length of disability through an evaluation of medical information and job duties.
• Evaluate the extent of the disability through effective verbal and written communication skills to conduct medical investigation by phone or in writing to the applicant, employer, physicians or medical service professionals, lawyers and respond to all inquiries.
• Use your critical thinking skills to make decisions based on the results of your overall assessment of each claim.
• Implement return-to-work programs and coordinate with the employer.
• Conduct health care coordination and rehabilitation programs to ensure they meet employability goals.

The base salary for this position is between $62,800 - $94,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
