Through close collaboration with internal and external partners, we drive both reactive and proactive solutions, ensuring accurate transmission of payroll and benefits data while consistently exceeding client expectations.

As a Disability Benefit Analyst at TELUS Health, you'll play a crucial role in our Absence & Disability Management team. Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, you'll leverage your analytical prowess, attention to detail, and client service skills to ensure seamless payroll operations and support for those navigating disabilities and absences.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for problem-solving. You'll need to be adaptable, with the ability to learn new skills and software quickly. Your work will directly impact our clients and their employees, ensuring they receive accurate and timely payments and support.

What you’ll do
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct payroll data analysis (daily, weekly, monthly) adhering to client-specific disability management programs and service level agreements
Analyze and process payments for clients' employees, ensuring compliance with specific rules
Produce custom reports, perform audits, and reconciliations as needed
Client Service and Communication:
Respond to internal and external inquiries, providing timely support via various channels
Communicate effectively with TELUS Health departments and clients, following best practices
Process Management and Technical Skills:
Analyze, optimize, and define new processes to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks
Review technical specifications, troubleshoot issues, and participate in system testing
Maintain client data using in-house applications and learn new skills/software as required
Quality Control and Compliance:
Oversee production of benefits and payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations
Perform year-end tasks and evaluate internal controls
Identify, track, and archive records related to client pay feeds
Time Management and Problem-Solving:
Meet productivity objectives, deadlines, and KPIs
Manage and prioritize activities effectively
Identify problem sources and propose solutions
Flexibility and Teamwork:
Demonstrate flexibility in work hours to support National Clients
Work closely with internal teams and provide support as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
Carry out other related tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor
What you bring
Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of computer technology and systems
Nice to haves
Certificate/degree in business administration or accounting
Experience in absence/disability management or HR/payroll systems
Member of the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA)
Knowledge of benefit payment laws and regulations
Fluent in both written and spoken French
Salary Range: $37,700-$73,000
