Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

As the Benefits & Disability Consultant, you will be accountable for the execution, support, and consultation related to benefit, disability management, investment, and wellness programs. You will analyze usage and data to develop or modify programs to better align with business objectives. You will serve as the main contact among managers, employees, HRBPs, and Sun Life to ensure a positive experience. The goals are to enhance employee knowledge, improve processes and programs, and ensure compliance with legislation and policies related to benefits, investments, and leaves of absence.

Location

This role is based in our Toronto, ON office with a hybrid work model.

Reporting Relationship

You will report to the Senior Manager, Payroll & HR Services.

Your Moneris Career - What You'll Do
Benefits & Pension
  • Lead the annual benefit re-enrollment and renewal process, including communication strategies to educate employees about investment and benefit plans.
  • Analyze benefit and investment usage and participation; provide recommendations to align programs with business goals.
  • Design and improve Workday benefit and investment processes.
  • Develop and implement new or revised programs, policies, and documentation related to benefits and investments.
  • Reconcile benefit and investment data between HR systems (Workday, Sun Life).
  • Ensure compliance with pension and benefit legislation; maintain necessary records and reports, including Form 7.
  • Stay informed on government regulations, trends, and industry practices.
Disability Management
  • Develop and implement disability programs and standards to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Partner with HRBP on complex disability cases, including the development of non-compliance/warning letters.
  • Manage Short Term and Long Term Disability programs, including claims and employee communication.
  • Provide timely disability payment updates to payroll.
  • Liaise with service providers for return-to-work agreements.
Wellness
  • Implement company-wide wellness initiatives to promote health and manage costs.
  • Lead wellness events and develop communication strategies to increase awareness.
  • Manage the wellness budget and research external vendors for new programs.
Your Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business Management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in disability, investment, and benefits roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and sensitivity in handling personal information.
Nice-to-Have
  • CEBS or CHRP designation.
  • Fluency in French.
