Job summary

Loblaw in Brampton, Ontario is seeking a Director, Sourcing - Wine, Beer & Spirits to shape sourcing strategy and manage supplier relationships across Canada.

Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing, procurement, merchandising, or commercial leadership.

• Beverage alcohol industry experience or training (WSET) is a plus.

Loblaw is hiring a Director, Sourcing - Wine, Beer & Spirits in Brampton, Ontario. Reporting to the Senior Director, Liquor, Nicotine and Cannabis, this leader will shape sourcing strategy, supplier relationships and product assortment.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic sourcing vision for wine, beer and spirits, identifying opportunities to strengthen assortment, competitiveness, quality and value.
• Lead commercial negotiations and build partnerships with producers, suppliers, agents and industry partners in Canada and internationally.
• Identify emerging products and trends, and use market, consumer and competitive insights to guide sourcing decisions.
• Manage sourcing-related financial outcomes, including product costs, inventory productivity, margin and contribution to category P&L.
• Partner with merchandising, category, banner, supply chain, marketing and other teams to bring sourcing strategies to market.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory environments and develop external relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
• Coach and develop a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least five years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, merchandising, category management, business development or commercial leadership.
• Experience leading complex negotiations and senior-level supplier relationships.
• Financial acumen, including forecasting, modelling, margin management and P&L performance.
• Beverage alcohol industry experience, education or training, including WSET, is an asset.
