Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Brampton, Ontario, is hiring a Buyer - Sourcing, Garden to support category procurement and provide category insights to retail divisions. Reporting to the Produce Sourcing Director, you will source weekly and seasonal buys and develop strategies aligned with plans and budgets.

You will build vendor relationships, negotiate costs, lead promotional programs, and analyze data to inform pricing, assortment, and market trends.

Responsibilities

• Source weekly and seasonal product buys for baseline and promotional volumes.
• Develop and implement buying strategies aligned with category plans and budget targets.
• Build vendor relationships and manage vendor fulfilment and financial performance.
• Support vendor meetings, product costing negotiations, and cost mitigation.
• Lead promotional programs, including product selection, forecasting, pricing, vendor engagement, and performance evaluation.
• Use data to develop category plans, assess financial performance, and research competitive pricing, assortment, and market trends.
• Evaluate product and platform innovations, including private-label sourcing.
• Work with supply chain teams to address product availability and fulfilment challenges.
• Complete item setup and discontinuation, promotional entry and integrity reports, price and cost changes, store notification resolution, and vendor allowance tracking.

Compensation

Hiring range: $68,000-$93,500 per year. Pay may vary based on experience, knowledge, and the position's geographic region.
