Job summary

Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium in Canada seeks a Director, People and Effectiveness to partner with the President and senior leaders to elevate organizational culture, talent strategy, and HR practices across 70+ team members.

This role balances strategic planning with hands-on leadership, guiding recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning, compensation, benefits and employee relations while navigating remote work policies and evolving employment laws.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years in HR with executive experience across operations and management
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources
• Experience leading programs, influencing decisions and managing people
• Track record translating strategy into actionable initiatives
• Advising senior leaders and managing budgets/resources
• Experience with remote workforce policies and distributed teams
• Not-for-profit/complex stakeholder environment experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee all HR functions for EMC, including recruitment, onboarding, retention and engagement
• Develop relationships with leadership, stakeholders and service providers
• Lead workforce strategy and resource planning
• Develop and implement strategic HR plans aligned with organizational priorities
• Create scalable HR strategies to support growth
• Translate business needs into practical HR strategy
• Strengthen engagement, inclusion and well-being across teams
• Develop performance management systems and leadership coaching
• Oversee compensation, benefits and HR policies
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and emerging technologies in HR processes
