Job summary

Unifi Aviation Canada, Inc. seeks a Director of Operations to manage regional station operations, ensuring safety, professionalism and financial performance. The role requires a seasoned leader with strong operational insight and business acumen.

The position drives staffing, P&L ownership, and continuous improvement across the operation, partnering with executives, vendors, and customers. Travel and 24/7 operational readiness are expected.

Job Summary:

The Director of Operations is responsible for all regional station operations, ensuring that the delivery of services is consistent, professional, safe, and secure. The role requires a seasoned senior manager with strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment.

Job Duties:
  • Oversight of Operational leadership and drives safety, operational performance, customer experience, and financial results .
  • Evaluate daily staffing and ensures resources are aligned for optimum performance .
  • Anticipate future staffing needs and ensure proactive recruitment measures are implemented .
  • Full P&L responsibility .
  • Daily labo u r management .
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans consistent with customer expectations .
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements in the operation process and communicate them to the executive team and customer .
  • Build effective partnerships with internal departments, outside vendors, contractors, business partners, communities, and other business entities .
  • Interacts regularly with the executive team to ensure operational priorities are aligned with total company direction.
  • Promotes team-building initiatives and performs coaching and mentoring activities to develop and motivate team members.
  • Ensures information is communicated in a clear, accurate , and comprehensive manner.
  • Participates in employee relations investigations when complaints are brought forth and resolves issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitors and enforces safe working conditions in accordance with regulatory requirements, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws.
  • Promotes and adheres to policies , including but not limited to, Safety, Anti-Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
Qualifications:
  • Must have experience in airline ground handling services .
  • Experience managing a budget .
  • Must have the ability to identify , evaluate and refine operational and financial results and manage to meet target performance.
  • Must be able to lead team members effectively, as well as coach and develop individuals toward meeting corporate and individual goals.
  • L ead innovation by teaching, consensus-building, and project execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and be self- starting on tasks within area of expertise.
  • Ability to lead and demonstrate initiative and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill s and a s olid decision-maker with exceptional analytical skills.
  • Must be able to obtain credentials required as per local authorities .
  • Supervisory experience is required .
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience .
  • Minimum of six years in anaviationground operations station or regional leadership position.
Physical requirements :
  • Must be able to frequently push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, l ift up to 70lbs and move up to 70lbs ; and constantly walk, stand, handle, grasp and reach out . May have to reach above shoulder occasionally.
Working conditions:
  • You will need to have flexibility in your schedule , including nights, weekends, and holidays . We operate 365 24/7 operations.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as operationally needed.
