Job summary

Unifi Aviation Canada, Inc. in Calgary is seeking a Ramp Supervisor to lead a ramp team, marshal aircraft, and oversee loading, de-icing and safety inspections.

You will coordinate shifts, ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations, and maintain equipment readiness in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to obtain a fully cleared Restricted Area Identification Card.
• Must be able to obtain a YYC D/A AVOP.

Job Summary:

Responsible for leading a ramp team and marshalling aircraft in and out of gate, loading, unloading and sorting baggage. Also responsible for cleaning the aircraft, restocking items, de-icing aircraft, carrying out inspections, hazard checks. Operate ramp equipment such as stairs and bridges.

Job Duties:

• Lead a team of agents in ramp service duties.
• Marshal the aircraft on the ramp all arriving, departing and towed aircraft.
• Perform wing walker duties to protect the aircraft wing from equipment in the path of pushback and de-ice aircraft as required.
• Load, unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight and company material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders or baggage carts.
• Operate ramp equipment like bag tugs, belt loaders, aircraft tow tractors, water servicing vehicles, and lavatory servicing vehicles.
• May be assigned cabin service duties like servicing the aircraft, cleaning lavatories and cabin, restocking supplies, and other items.
• Monitor and enforce safe working habits in accordance with OHS/CATSA/Transport Canada regulations, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws.
• Responsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignments, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
• Enforces Company policies and procedures, including disciplinary action, and promotes Unifi policies on Equal Employment Opportunity, Professional Conduct, and diversity initiatives and investigates and responds to employee relations issues in a timely manner. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill, experience and, capabilities expected for this position.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain a fully cleared Restricted Area Identification Card.
• Must be able to obtain a YYC D/A AVOP.
• Possess a valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two + years of relevant work experience in the aviation or ground handling industry.

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to frequently lift, greater than 70lbs and constantly lift up to 70 lbs; Constantly push, pull up to 70 lbs; and constantly walk, stand, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, stoop, squat, kneel, & bend.

Working conditions:

• Must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime.
• Must be able and open to work in outside weather conditions which may include severe seasonal elements.
