Job summary

Englobe is seeking a senior professional in civil engineering and project management to lead major technical projects across geotechnical, materials and pavements. You will guide teams, manage budgets, ensure quality and client satisfaction, and help grow the local market.

The role emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and a strong health & safety culture within a hybrid work environment in Ontario, Canada.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; professional licensure a plus
  • 15+ years in major technical and project management functions
  • Experience in engineering consulting; knowledge of Geotechnical, Materials and Pavements engineering
  • Member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
  • Experience leading teams with autonomy and collaboration
  • Budget development, P&L interpretation experience preferred
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; security clearance eligibility
  • Commitment to health and safety practices and policies

Responsibilities

  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules
  • Manage operations to achieve corporate objectives
  • Ensure quality, client satisfaction, and profitability of projects; manage HR resources
  • Communicate objectives and challenges to Operations Centre leaders and PMs
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team leaders and project managers
  • Participate in succession planning for Geotechnical and Pavements business
  • Develop training plans and career development for Operations Centre staff
  • Develop department budgets and review financial activities per budget
  • Represent company in client meetings; work in multidisciplinary project contexts
  • Manage own portfolio of projects and act as senior professional on projects
  • Coordinate major projects and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise work with project managers to ensure set-up and execution
  • Oversee client satisfaction and long-term relationships
  • Support business development to grow local and national market

Your main responsibilities
  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;
  • Perform operations management of the business to achieve corporate objectives;
  • Ensure the efficiency of the business with emphasis on quality, customer satisfaction and profitability of the projects, and management of human resources including employee engagement and utilization;
  • Actively participate in meetings of the Operations Centre and communicate to the Operations Centre Team Leaders and Project Managers the objectives and challenges set by the company, the business unit and the Operations Centre;
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring and mobilize the group of team leaders, project managers and other business resources;
  • Actively participate in the succession planning of the Geotechnical and Pavements business;
  • Help manage the training plans and career development of employees within the Operations Centre;
  • Develop budget guidelines of the department for the fiscal year and review the financial activities of the business according to the budget;
  • Represent the company during meetings with clients and the various internal teams, in a multidisciplinary project context;
  • Manage own portfolio of projects;
  • Act as a senior professional in various projects;
  • Actively engage in the organization and tracking of major projects in the service;
  • Analyze project planning, optimal use of resources, and the identification of talent acquisition in collaboration with the team leaders and project managers;
  • Plan, assign, coordinate and supervise work, projects and activities performed by the team. Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set-up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations;
  • Oversee client satisfaction and the establishment of long‑term relationships;
  • Promote and develop the local market to increase the business base in the area under his/her responsibility;
  • Support the business development team in the efforts to increase market share on a local and national level.
What makes you unique
  • University Degree in Civil Engineering; post-graduate degree would be considered an asset;
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in major technical and project management functions and business development;
  • Experience in the engineering consulting and deep understanding of the Geotechnical, Materials and Pavements Engineering fields;
  • Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO);
  • Experience in a management role, leadership, autonomy and ability to establish, maintain and promote positive working relations;
  • Experience with developing yearly budgets and interpreting P&L statements would be considered an asset;
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain security clearance required;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.

The salary range for this position is $130,113 to $170,773 CAD base per annum, based on the responsibilities of the role, internal equity, and current market benchmarks. The final offer will be determined based on a combination of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications, their positioning within our internal compensation structure, and relevant geographic cost-of-living considerations, where applicable. This range represents a realistic and good‑faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this role.

Compensation may also include a comprehensive benefits package, performance incentives, or bonus eligibility depending on role level and business unit. We aim to foster transparency, respect candidate time and ensure equitable compensation aligned with our company values.
