Job summary

Englobe is seeking a Civil Engineer with a geotechnical focus to join a dynamic team delivering projects in environment, renewable energies, hydroelectricity, transportation, materials, buildings and climate markets. You will participate in assessments, reporting, and proposals, applying geotechnical methods and QA processes.

The candidate has a bachelor in civil engineering (geotech), at least 3 years geotechnical experience, and proficiency with Geostudio and logging software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• At least 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or geo-materials.
• Familiar with logging software, Geostudio (Slope/w) and Canadian Foundation Engineering Manual.
• Strong written and spoken English communications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and problem solving, report preparation and review, and preparation of proposals and invoices.
• Conduct geotechnical assessments utilizing computer aided design and analysis software.
• Write the factual portions of geotechnical reports summarizing site conditions, and findings from boreholes and other field data.
• Write recommendations for bearing resistance, slope stability assessments, pavement design, etc., for senior review.

Your main responsibilities

• Assist with and problem solving, report preparation and review, and preparation of proposals and invoices;
• Conduct geotechnical assessments utilizing computer aided design and analysis software;
• Write the factual portions of geotechnical reports summarizing site conditions, and findings from boreholes and other field data;
• Write recommendations for bearing resistance, slope stability assessments, pavement design, etc., for senior review;
• Conduct site visits and investigations to evaluate difficult conditions and assist field staff;
• Assist in training and mentoring technical personnel and more junior professional staff;
• Assist with project schedule and budgets;
• Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.

What makes you unique

• Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical; Engineering from a recognised university;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical and/or geo-materials engineering;
• Familiar with logging software, Geostudios (Slope/w) and Canadian Foundation Engineering Manual;
• Strong English communication skills;
• Willing to train and develop Project Management skills;
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
• Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
