Director of Ecommerce (14 Month Contract, Maternity Leave)

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Director of Ecommerce for a 14-month maternity leave contract. You will own and drive the ecommerce strategy, reporting to the Chief Brand Officer, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your role involves developing innovative ecommerce strategies aligned with brand and business goals, managing a team, and delivering engaging user experiences to increase conversion and revenue. You should be results-driven and eager to make a significant impact in a creative environment.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Planning and executing the ecommerce department plan to drive revenue growth.
  2. Identifying and implementing initiatives for short- and long-term online sales growth, including website and mobile app.
  3. Evaluating the conversion funnel, monitoring KPIs, and optimizing performance through testing and new tactics.
  4. Leading and developing the ecommerce team, including direct reports and contractors handling site management, merchandising, UX/UI, SEO, analytics, and compliance.
  5. Collaborating with other departments to ensure alignment with broader initiatives and support for product and marketing.
  6. Creating engaging content with the creative and copy teams to enhance digital storytelling and conversion.
  7. Managing the ecommerce team budget aligned with strategic priorities.
  8. Managing existing partner relationships and sourcing new partners supporting ecommerce growth, including AI, A/B testing, and mobile app partners.
  9. Improving organizational processes for increased efficiency and scalability.
What we are looking for:
  • 5 to 7 years of experience managing D2C ecommerce.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Extensive experience with Shopify Plus, applications, and integrations.
  • Experience analyzing market trends and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Understanding of ecommerce technology such as ERP, 3PL, WMS; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Leadership skills to build trust and collaborate effectively.
  • Interest and understanding of the digital landscape, with innovative ideas for brand leadership.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly.
