Set the vision for Dyson Canada Direct Ecommerce through both existing and new channels
Jointly with Canada and Regional Direct Leadership, translate the long-term strategy of the Canadian business and Dyson’s Regional Direct Strategic priorities to define and drive a 5-year direct strategy.
Be a visible and inspiring leader, championing to bring the direct strategy to life and building and maintaining momentum behind it. Motivate both Direct Ecommerce and other supporting partner functions, both local and regional, to get drive the strategy and achieve goals.
Create and galvanize people behind clear strategic plans that fully capitalizes on direct opportunities while growing overall market profitability long-term and protecting the Dyson brand.
Develop plans and an efficient trading process and deliver direct sales volume and revenue commitments
Develop plans that are consistent with the strategy and across all dimensions of the business (commercial, financial, operational, people) and point towards our goals.
Work collaboratively with relevant teams to ensure that the organization is equipped with the right infrastructure (people, processes and systems) to deliver annual direct sales volumes through existing and new channels.
Be a role model of ownership and accountability to commitments. Deliver monthly sales volumes as forecasted and communicate variances. When commitments are not met, proactively diagnose root causes and implement strategies to course correct.
Own the direct business P&L and drive the business to relevant target(s), including overall performance and planned sales volumes (annual, monthly, etc.).
Deliver the direct strategy through close collaboration with all business functions
Drive first class execution of Direct Ecommerce and Dyson Group BU relevant strategies and activities through dysoncanada.ca.
Lead and influence cross-functionally to ensure collaborative delivery of direct strategy, working particularly closely with:
Sales (National Accounts, Field Sales, and Demonstration)
Marketing (Media, Brand, and Category)
Customer Service (Contact Center and Technical Services)
Logistics and Finance
Other local or regional functions
Balance execution of preconceived plans with agility to respond to real time market and consumer dynamics.
As the owner of the site, ensure high standards for our consumer journeys through the right combination of Dyson guidelines and assets, and data-driven local relevance.
Build the team and capabilities needed to set the direct business up for future success
In partnership with Regional Direct Leadership, review resource and capability requirements in direct and cross functional teams.
Drive continuous review and development of capabilities and other commercial opportunities required to continue the expansion of direct and deliver long term growth.
Proactively influence the agenda by engaging with the regional and global Direct leadership team; share own market findings, explore new ideas, and borrow inspiration from other markets and industries.
10+ years of strong e-commerce and digital marketing experience
Data driven site merchandising and consumer journey optimization.
Understanding of the digital media landscape, mechanics and levers
Understanding of CRM / email / database acquisition strategies
Affiliate management (eBay, other digital retailers)
Experience leading in an e-commerce environment, both branded sites and third-party platform
Proven delivery of sales results with a premium brand
Budget management and financial expertise
Deep understanding of customer experience and behaviors
Understanding of the complexity of market dynamics and its implications
Can credibly understand and be a thought leader across ecommerce infrastructure, e.g. logistics, warehousing, supporting IT platforms, media strategies, etc.
Demonstrated strategic and business planning capability
Budget management and financial expertise
Evidence of success in complex, matrix and entrepreneurial environments is key
Excellent influencer with the ability to inspire, align and engage multiple teams without exercising direct authority
Strong leader capable of developing a vision, drawing on multi-disciplinary perspectives, obtaining buy-in across the business, and driving collaborative execution
Excellent ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization, locally and globally
Energized by thinking differently, delivering change, and diplomatically challenging the norm
Successful experience working across the spectrum of strategic to executional, and comfortable with hands-on delivery
Comfortable with ambiguity but able to build structure and clarity
Self-starter who is proactive and has an owner’s mindset, sees things through to completion
Uncompromising ethics and integrity
Having worked in entrepreneurial contexts is a plus
Third party platform direct experience is a plus
Must be able to occasionally travel and work both within and outside Canada.
