Job description

Based in Toronto, Pomp & Circumstance is one of Canada’s fastest-growing lifestyle and consumer PR agencies. Named on Adweek’s Global 100 Fastest Growing List, Strategy Magazine Agency of the Year, and Canadian Business' Startup List, P&C delivers award-winning, culturally resonant campaigns across media relations, influencer marketing, social, digital, events, experiential, paid media and content. This role is for Bonus Track, our sister creative agency, which is at the forefront of content innovation and storytelling for some of the country’s most exciting brands.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced, visionary Director of Content & Digital to lead social and digital strategy and content development across a portfolio of lifestyle and corporate clients. You are equal parts strategist, storyteller, client whisperer, and team leader. With deep expertise in organic social media and a passion for creating award-worthy content, you thrive in a fast-paced, idea-driven environment.

This role will lead cross-functional teams to shape and sell through best-in-class digital and social strategies, from high-level planning and platform strategy to detailed content calendars and campaign execution. You understand how to drive engagement, build brand love, and show measurable impact. Experience in the financial, corporate, and loyalty sectors is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of social media strategies for both corporate and lifestyle clients, aligning content with business goals and brand voice.
  • Collaborate closely with PR, Integrated Media, XM and Strategy teams to conceptualize and deliver social-first campaigns that are both high-performing and culturally relevant.
  • Present social strategy, campaign ideas, and content plans to clients with confidence and clarity; guide stakeholders to buy into bold, creative thinking.
  • Manage and mentor a team of social media managers, coordinators, designers and content creators, supporting growth, collaboration, and performance.
  • Oversee editorial planning, content calendars, channel strategy, and social copy, ensuring tone, timing, and quality are consistent and effective.
  • Direct social media storytelling across platforms including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and emerging channels. A deep experience with LinkedIn corporate content is essential.
  • Plan and Integrate organic and paid digital media strategies to drive reach, engagement, and conversion; while deep paid expertise isn’t required, a working understanding is preferred.
  • Collaborate with content creators, influencers, and production partners, providing briefs, direction, and creative feedback.
  • Analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies and reports, directing the monthly reporting and wrap decks.
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, cultural trends, and industry shifts to inform innovative thinking and client recommendations.

About You

  • 7+ years of experience in social media strategy, content marketing, digital marketing, or brand communications, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Proven track record of leading social campaigns for brands in both the corporate (financial, loyalty, B2B) and lifestyle (hospitality, wellness, CPG) sectors.
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates exceptional content thinking, creative collaboration, and strategic excellence.
  • Excellent client leadership skills; you build trust quickly, speak with authority, and can navigate feedback with poise and persuasion.
  • Experienced at presenting work to executive stakeholders, gaining alignment, and inspiring action.
  • Adept at team management. You empower, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Sophisticated writing and storytelling abilities across formats and platforms; you can switch tone, adapt for medium, and write with clarity and SEO best practices.
  • Familiar with social publishing and reporting tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, Meltwater, etc.)
  • Bonus: Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and basic video editing tools.
