About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives in the aerospace and defense sectors. This role involves identifying new opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and driving revenue growth by aligning our design-build solutions with the needs of top-tier defense contractors, their suppliers, and government agencies. The position requires a deep understanding of the aerospace and defense markets, including DoD acquisition processes. Location options include Raleigh, Richmond, Baltimore, or Philadelphia.

A Day in the Life
  • Develop and execute market strategies targeting U.S. DoD programs and prime contractors.

  • Build relationships with senior decision-makers in government and industry.
  • Oversee proposal development and competitive positioning for pursuits over $10M.
  • Engage customers through consultative approaches and active listening.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align offerings and ensure project success.
  • Represent ARCO at industry events and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related; Master’s preferred.
  • Over 10 years of business development experience in aerospace and defense.
  • Proven success in securing large DoD or prime contractor contracts.
  • Knowledge of federal budgeting, DoD procurement, and government contracting.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with executives and officials.
  • Innovative, goal-oriented, and visionary leadership qualities.
  • Flexibility and independence valued; active security clearance preferred.
