Fraser Health (FH) is responsible for the delivery of hospital and community-based health services to over 2 million people in 20 diverse communities from Burnaby to Fraser Canyon on the traditional territories of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations. The Fraser region is home to 32 First Nations communities and 6 Métis Chartered communities. The Senior Director of Consulting and Analytics is seeking a results-driven leader for a new Director of Analytics role within the Centre for Advanced Analytics, Data Science and Innovation (CAADSI) portfolio at FH. The Director will play a pivotal role in advancing data-driven innovation and healthcare optimization across acute care, community services, and enterprise-level modeling. This is a opportunity to lead a high-performing analytics team within a system undergoing significant transformation — including the modernization of cloud data platforms and analytics infrastructure. With direct partnerships involving the Ministry of Health, BC Health Authorities, and other healthcare delivery stakeholders, this role empowers the Director to shape how data and analytics drive operational efficiency, patient care improvement, and strategic planning.

They will lead senior data analysts in applying advanced analytical practices — including AI-driven insights, and cloud-based analytics — to solve complex operational challenges and support clinical service innovation. This leader will also be instrumental in guiding our journey toward cloud data modernization, ensuring our platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned with emerging DataOps best practices. As a champion of continuous improvement, they will foster a culture of analytical excellence and agile execution, balancing immediate deliverables with long-term capability development — all in support of building a more intelligent, connected, and efficient healthcare system.
Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Centre for Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and Innovation (CAADSI), the Director, Analytics implements the strategies developed and outlined by Senior Leadership for enterprise analytics management and reporting of administrative / operational, clinical and corporate data, in support of the attainment of the strategic objectives and performance plans of the organization. Surfaces strategic and innovative opportunities to Senior Leadership and implements solutions that deliver high quality, meaningful information and business intelligence, and optimize the use of health care resources employed to deliver services across the care continuum and improve population health and outcomes. Provides comprehensive support and ensures alignment for directional and service planning and forecasting across FHA transformation initiatives, programs, networks, continuums and entities. Directs project management and technical activities, including identifying client problems and solving technical issues, assessing appropriate KPIs, automating and optimizing reporting workflows, trend analysis, program evaluation, and data lake modelling, for system-wide and entity-based performance improvement initiatives to enable best practice implementation and improved resource utilization.
Establishes and coordinates project teams and provides leadership, guidance and support to staff to achieve goals and deliverables associated with analytical reporting and systems performance improvement. Positions group to provide information and improvement expertise to the organization drawing on data and resources across the Centre for Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and Innovation portfolio. Key partnerships are with other members of the Centre for Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and Innovation Leadership Team, transformation/ network/ continuum/ program leaders, corporate services (including financial planning, facilities planning, employee engagement, population health, etc.) - as well as Ministry of Health and other health authorities. Partakes in internal and external committees and task groups as delegated from Director. Partners with data representatives regarding matters such as ongoing information system / database implementation and upgrades, new technologies, and changes to standards or legislative requirements.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Health Services Administration, or Business Administration supported by ten (10) to twelve (12) years’ recent, related experience in progressively more complex management/leadership roles with responsibilities for strategic and service level planning, managing large scale projects and initiatives, applying a variety of quantitative and qualitative approaches and technical analytical tools (including forecasting and modeling) to a range of planning activities and performance improvement opportunities, and effective interaction with wide range of clinical, operational and leadership partners. Expertise in Operations Research, quantitative modeling and lean improvement techniques are an asset.
