Position Overview:

This role is an essential part of building and maintaining a strong connection with our communities, clients and supporters via our digital presence. This position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, an eye for design, and a keen interest in enhancing our digital (and physical) presence.

The role consists of:

1. Create, schedule & publish content for various social media platforms
2. Monitor & engage with followers & respond to comments/messages
3. Create on-brand & eye-catching visuals for social media, newsletters & other digital content
4. Assist in the creation of resources & print materials
5. Update website content including text, images & blog posts
6. Ensure website stays as up to date and user-friendly as possible
7. Collaborate with others on campaigns & content strategies
8. Assist with other administrative tasks, as required

The Digital & Social Media Specialist is someone with:

1. degree, diploma or equivalent work/lived experience in communications, marketing or intersecting field
2. strong understanding of social media platforms & content creation
3. experienced with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design software
4. excellent written and oral communication skills
5. ability to create polished and professional visual assets
6. attention to detail and ability to work independently
7. strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
8. person who practices the principles of intersectional anti-racism, anti-oppression and trauma informed care and adheres to Skipping Stone’s values.

It would be a plus to have:

1. lived experience reflective of the Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary and gender diverse communities we support
2. some experience in the design of print materials
3. some experience with website management content management systems
4. some knowledge of web optimization and analytics tools
