A leading technology consulting firm is seeking a Digital Application Engineer – Database to join their Digital Client Services team. We are seeking a Digital Application Engineer – Database to join our Digital Client Services (DCS) team. This hands-on, operational role is focused on the deployment and delivery of a proprietary Asset Performance Management (APM) system. This digital solution leverages advanced data analytics to help water treatment professionals make better technical decisions, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs.
Lead the implementation of the APM solution at new and existing water treatment facilities.
Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to set up data logging and transmission protocols tailored to project-specific needs.
Configure user accounts and define key operational parameters based on engineering documentation such as P&IDs, Control Logic Charts (CLCs), and PLC/HMI code.
Ensure configurations align with established quality standards and process models.
Work with field service engineers, plant operators, and customer IT teams to address network and cybersecurity issues during commissioning.
Troubleshoot data logging issues in collaboration with process analysts, technical support, and automation engineers.
Provide post-commissioning support, including account adjustments and technical assistance.
Monitor ongoing data transmission and resolve any connectivity issues that arise.
Participate in multidisciplinary project execution teams, coordinating with engineering, automation, and commissioning stakeholders.
Represent the APM platform in client-facing meetings, especially on topics related to data transmission and cybersecurity.
Propose and implement workflow and process improvements within the DCS team.
Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
Strong background in customer service or technical support.
Experience troubleshooting data logging or internet connectivity issues.
Familiarity with industrial networking protocols and connectivity platforms like OPC servers.
Proficient in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
Ability to read and understand PLC/HMI code (e.g., Rockwell, GE, Siemens).
Comfortable working with network diagrams, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, Modbus, EthernetIP, Profinet).
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
Understanding of water filtration technologies and chemical processes.
Experience working in AWS environments.
Familiarity with project management practices.
Programming experience (e.g., Python, VB.NET, Java).
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.
Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data analytics tools.
Background in system integration projects.
Multilingual abilities (French, Spanish, Portuguese) are a plus, but not required.
