Covenant Health Canada in Edmonton seeks a Dietitian I to provide inpatient nutrition care at Misericordia Community Hospital, with primary assignments in NICU and Adult Medicine. The position is permanent part-time (0.80 FTE) with days shifts.
The role includes on-call coverage on weekends and statutory holidays and requires collaboration with Nutrition and Food Services to support optimal patient outcomes. Active registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta is required.
This permanent part-time position provides inpatient acute care services at the Misericordia Community Hospital. In this role, you will deliver nutrition expertise to patients across a variety of clinical areas, supporting the achievement of optimal nutrition and health outcomes. At this time, the primary clinical assignment for this position will be within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Adult Medicine unit; however, clinical assignments are subject to change in accordance with operational requirements. This position also provides on-call services for weekends and statutory holidays.
Description: The Dietitian I is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating the nutrition care for all patients/residents in the facility; on admission, quarterly and whenever there is a significant change in status to support optimum nutrition care. The dietitian acts as a liaison to the Nutrition and Food Services for program specific initiatives and supports. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition accredited by the College of Dietitian's of Alberta (CDA) is required.Active registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta required.Successful completion of an internship program or practicum training program that is accredited by the Dietitians of Canada is required
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year NICU care experience.Experience with providing nutrition care within adult acute care inpatient settings.Practice permit that includes Restricted Activities authorization to prescribe TPN.
Preferred Qualifications:Clinical documentation using ADIME, NCPT.Experience using SGA/nutrition focused physical exam.Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to changing clinical priorities.
