Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto is seeking a Dietary Aide to support patient meal service on-site. Responsibilities include preparing and assembling patient meal trays, washing dishes and equipment, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives to uphold safety and sanitation standards.

Ideal candidates will have one year of food service experience, be able to read and speak English, demonstrate reliable attendance, and work well in a team with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• One year of practical experience in food service environment – required.
• Food Handlers Certification (Public Health) – required
• WHMIS training – required
• Demonstrate reliable work attendance record – required
• Service and detail oriented
• Able to stand, walk and bend without restrictions
• Able to lift floor to waist up to 20lbs
• Able to push/ pull food service equipment, smallwares up to 30lbs
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Requiring minimal supervision
• Follow established standards for food handling & preparation
• Maintain established sanitation and safety standards in the care and cleaning of food service dishes and equipment
• Follow all new and existing department policies and procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a strong team environment
