Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking a Dietary Aide to support patient meal services and maintain approved sanitation standards. You will prepare and assemble meal trays, assist with dishwashing, and help implement quality improvement initiatives within Food Services.

The role requires at least one year of food service experience, a Food Handlers Certification, WHMIS training, and strong teamwork with reliable attendance.

Qualifications

The Dietary Aide will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Preparation and assembly of patient meal trays
• Dishwashing of patient meal trays, pots & pans, food service wares & equipment
• Supporting Food Services quality improvement initiatives
• Communicating with Supervisor regarding discrepancies

Qualifications/Skills:

• One year of practical experience in food service environment – required
• Food Handlers Certification (Public Health) – required
• WHMIS training – required
• Demonstrate reliable work attendance record – required
• Service and detail oriented
• Able to stand, walk and bend without restrictions
• Able to lift floor to waist up to 20lbs
• Able to push/ pull food service equipment, smallwares up to 30lbs
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Requiring minimal supervision
• Follow established standards for food handling & preparation
• Maintain established sanitation and safety standards in the care and cleaning of food service dishes and equipment
