Job summary

AgeCare is hiring a Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation and serving, while keeping dining and kitchen areas clean and sanitary. You’ll help set up service, deliver trays, and participate in special events with residents in a supportive senior care environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Food Handler's Certificate, have customer-service strengths, and can lift heavy items; bilingual skills are a plus. This role supports our mission to provide dignified, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Preference given to those with prior food service experience with seniors.
• Must possess or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items, and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• To assist in the set up and preparation for service of beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required.
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas as required.
• To assist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.

The Opportunity:
The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and ensuring that work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.
What You Will Do:

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• To assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required.
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
• To assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.

What You Will Need:

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate
• Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.
• Must possess or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items, and stand/walk for majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a criminal background check) or willing to obtain one.
