Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to create a welcoming dining experience for residents. You will take and deliver orders, ensure warmth and attention to detail, and maintain a clean dining area in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring a secondary education, a food handler certification, and prior server or customer service experience. The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Secondary School education or equivalent is required.
• Food Handler Certification (training provided if not certified).
• Experience in server or customer service roles is preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.

What You’ll Do

• Take and deliver tableside food and beverage orders promptly and professionally
• Provide attentive service that reflects residents’ preferences and personal tastes
• Set up the dining room and clear tables following Chartwell standards
• Maintain clean and organized area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Wash, dry, and store dishes, and equipment while following all health & safety rules

What You’ll Bring

• Secondary School education or equivalent
• Food Handler Certification (training provided if not already certified)
• Experience as server or in customer service role
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced setting and attentive to detail

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
• Physical ability to meet job demands, including standing for long periods, lifting and carrying heavy items, and handling kitchen tools safely
• Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
