Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to deliver warm, attentive service at mealtimes for older adults. You’ll ensure dining areas are prepared, serve meals with care, and support a safe, clean environment in a fast-paced setting.

Role requires a secondary school education or equivalent and a Food Handler Certification (training provided if needed). Weekend/evening shifts may be required with a strong emphasis on teamwork and customer service.

• Food Handler Certification is required or training provided.

Responsibilities

• Take and deliver tableside food and beverage orders promptly and professionally.
• Provide attentive service reflecting residents’ preferences and personal tastes.
• Set up the dining room and clear tables following Chartwell standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Wash, dry, and store dishes and equipment following health and safety rules.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain clean and organized area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Wash, dry, and store dishes, and equipment while following all health & safety rules

What You’ll Bring

• Secondary School education or equivalent
• Food Handler Certification (training provided if not already certified)
• Experience as server or in customer service role
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced setting and attentive to detail

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
• Physical ability to meet job demands, including standing for long periods, lifting and carrying heavy items, and handling kitchen tools safely
• Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
