Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide in Sarnia, Ontario. The role offers an 8:00am-12:00pm shift with an hourly wage of $23.46, reporting to the Food Service Manager. You will support cooks, handle food safely, and help serve meals per resident diet orders.

Responsibilities include kitchen and dining room upkeep, adherence to guidelines, and teamwork to deliver quality care to residents in a long-term care setting. A proactive and compassionate attitude is required.

Qualifications

• Must have College Level Food Service Worker Program and Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player and provide quality care.

Reports to: Food Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring food is handled in a safe manner, including proper storage and labeling
• Assisting cooks in basic food preparation
• Executing proper food service in relation to internal and external guidelines and protocols
• Serving meals according to Resident diet orders
• Washing, cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and dining room

Knowledge And Skills Required

• Mandatory enrollment or completion of a College Level Food Service Worker Program, meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act
• Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

Additional Requirements Include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
• Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
