Job description

Position Overview

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist 1 to join the Electroencephalography (EEG) team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to become part of our team!

Responsibilities
  1. Perform technical functions related to diagnostic neurophysiology, including conducting tests such as EEG and evoked potentials (EP), recording measurements, and preparing technical reports for medical interpretation.
Qualifications
  • Diploma of Technology in Electrophysiology from a recognized institution and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certification with the Canadian Board of Registration of E.E.G. Technologists (C.B.R.E.T.).
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of electroneurophysiology theory and practice within a client- and family-centered care model.
  • Understanding of other health care disciplines and their roles in patient care.
  • Proficiency in conducting diagnostic tests including EEG and Evoked Potentials.
  • Skill in using relevant equipment and techniques for client assessment.
  • Effective communication skills with peers, physicians, health care professionals, clients, and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practice, Harm Reduction, and Strengths-based care, with the ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
  • Ability to provide competent, culturally safe care in diverse settings.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties required.
Additional Information

Work hours may vary based on operational needs and collective agreement provisions. Successful applicants may need to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. All health care workers in publicly-funded facilities must report their vaccination history as per Ministry of Health policy.
