Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Technologist specializing in HVAC and Building Systems for our Vancouver office, located in a LEED-certified building. The role involves working with engineers and technologists on design, drafting, modelling, and construction inspection for various clients, focusing on building and infrastructure sectors. You will gain experience across multiple markets including municipal water, education, government, recreation, industrial, and arts & culture.

The ideal candidate is motivated, team-oriented, quality-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing detailed drafting under mentorship.
  • Engaging in design activities independently and with guidance.
  • Acting as resource and technical drawing coordinator (CAD/BIM).
  • Contributing to technical resources and supporting BIM management.
  • Ensuring BIM standards and QA/QC procedures are followed.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or certificate in Engineering Design & Drafting, Building Environmental Systems Technology, or equivalent.
  • Eligible for ASTTBC registration is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of BC and National Building Codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA (assets).
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing design, and building simulation software like HAP.
  • Construction inspection experience (asset).
  • Strong communication, organizational, mathematical, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Team player committed to collaboration.
