Your Opportunity

We are seeking an intermediate level Structural Designer / Technologist to join our Vancouver office. You will be part of a dynamic team providing professional services to clients in the Buildings sector. Responsibilities include producing technical drawings from initial planning to design and construction for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities, using REVIT and AutoCAD.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of structural engineering concepts and systems, strong technical abilities, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. A related engineering diploma from an accredited institution is required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare contract drawings, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction documents.
2. Produce structural design aspects and drawings in REVIT or AutoCAD.
3. Organize and maintain project-specific design and REVIT digital file databases.
4. Ensure quality and consistency of drawings and graphic work.
5. Coordinate with team members during REVIT model production.
6. Manage REVIT file structures and facilitate file exchanges.
7. Create and understand custom REVIT Families.
8. Follow REVIT and AutoCAD standards, quality assurance, and quality control procedures.
9. Coordinate projects with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
10. Meet project deadlines.
11. Stay updated on new products, technologies, and drafting techniques.

Capabilities and Credentials

• Proficiency with recent versions of AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Experience with structural steel and concrete detailing.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Education and Experience

• Diploma in civil engineering technology from a recognized program.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience with REVIT and AutoCAD, including structural steel, concrete, masonry, and mass timber projects.
