Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for the Eastern Zone, Strait Richmond Hospital. You will perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures, review imaging protocols, and support patient care within the Diagnostic Imaging Team.

The role requires graduation from an accredited ultrasound program, Sonography Canada certification, NSRMIRT licensure, CPR, and willingness to travel to other sites. Travel and multilingual skills are assets.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
• NSRMIRT licensure and Sonography Canada certification required.
• CPR certification current.
• Travel to other sites may be required.
• Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset.
• French language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
• Ensure proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.
• Coordinate patient care and assist the imaging team.

About The Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities, and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

About You

Travel to other sites may be required.

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
• Sonography Canada certification
• Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT) licensure
• Current CPR Certification
• Comprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
• Previous experience is an asset
• Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

• Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation And Benefits

$38.74 - $47.50 hourly
